Peanut Butter is the universal food. Well, as close to universal as it gets. Most humans, and many animals, love peanut butter. This website, alas, is not for animals, or people with peanut allergies. It is for people who are creative with peanut butter. We think that the different varieties of peanut butter merit description, not unlike fine wine.
And we are amazed at the thousands of imaginative dishes that peanut butter aficionados come up with. PB and bananas. PB and whipped marshmallow. PB and bacon. And of course, our old friend, peanut butter and jelly. Countless school lunches have been built around PB & J.
Centuries ago, peanuts were ground into paste by the Aztecs. That much we know. But it is probable that the history of peanut butter goes back even further. In the U.S., the first patent for a process to produce peanut paste was granted in 1884. The first nut-butter was patented by J.H. Kellogg in 1897. And George Washington Carver invented more than 300 uses for peanuts. But it is not the intention of this website to delve into the history and health benefits of peanut butter.
Instead, we are keenly interested in the many applications of peanut butter. You, our brilliant users, are the lifeblood of this site. Please enter our forum; it's easy. Give us the benefit of your expertise in the following pages. We'll be trying your recipes and highlighting the best.
